Transportation

Let's Ride!
Bike riding is good exercise and like riding the bus, it's good for the environment. The Metro's new bike racks, available on certain routes, are easy to operate. Each rack holds two bikes to be secured with a spring-loaded clamp. Bikes can be loaded and removed without touching the other bike or the bus.

Fare Information
Metro buses accept cash, 12-Ride Passes and Monthly Bus Passes. The farebox will accept $1 bills. Fareboxes cannot make change, but can issue a change card that holds a credit. For example, if you use a $5 bill for a $1 fare, the farebox will give you a change card with $4 of credit. Inform the driver before inserting money into the farebox if you want a change card.

UMKC Shuttle Bus Transportation: Shuttle bus service is available Monday through Friday. Starting Winter Semester, bus service starts at 7:00 A.M. ends at 5:40 P.M. The shuttle bus does have a wheel chair lift. Students with disabilities may access the bus from any of the bus stops on campus. Any special needs should be coordinated through the Coordinator of Services for Students with Disabilities Office. Campus telephone number is 816-235-5696.
